My position on 3rd party graded or "SLABBED" notes

Most of my regular customers already know where I stand on third party grading, for those that don't;

It's not something I encourage, my personal collection is RAW as is the MAJORITY of my inventory.

Unlike a coin, which cannot be folded, soft folds and other "enhancements can be "hidden" in a slab.

It's difficult to view the notes at an angle in the plastic & much harder to detect any "enhancing" that may have been done.

Aside from that, some of the 3rd party grading services are less than reputable and/or knowledgable when it comes to the specialty areas like errors or autographs or detection of subtle varieties.

TPG's are for the investor/collector, not the hobby/collector. I firmly believe each collector should educate themselves BEFORE spending one dime in the hobby, especially when it comes to grading.

While it has been "policy" for me to free all notes from slabs in the past, a portion of the collecting community does seek these "slabbed" notes. For that reason, I no longer cut them loose, I leave that up the the purchaser.

However, as is common practice in the hobby, ALL 3rd party "SLABBED" notes are not returnable

since your are buying thier grade not mine.

 So while you will see more TPG'ed notes starting to appear on the site, my position remains the same, and again, ALL TPG'ed notes are sold WITHOUT a return option.
